Tired of paying for on-campus parking? Well, get ready to open your wallet a little bit wider.
Effective Tuesday, daily parking passes are increasing by 100 percent, from $1 to $2 per day, according to a Los Rios Police Department Facebook status update.
This will be the first parking fee increase in 17 years.
According to a representative at the ARC Business Office, the semester parking passes will remain at $30 for students ($20 for those receiving a Board of Governors Fee Waiver) for fall semester, but will increase for spring semester 2015. The new amount has not yet been released to the business office.
Sgt. Mike Olson from the LRPD was not immediately available for comment, and as of this writing, the fee increase had not yet been updated on the LRPD parking website.
The Current will update this story as more information becomes available.
