Cameron Weaver is the opinion section editor and a second-semester member of the Current. He is also the Director of Public Relations for the American River College Student Senate.  He is currently pursuing associate degrees in journalism and political science before transferring to a four-year institution with a focus on public administration.

Legislation is currently under review in the Senate Judiciary Committee that would prohibit children from attending a public or private institution without mandatory vaccinations in the state of California. The debate on mandatory vaccinations has rested as of late on individual rights vs. the public's health and safety.
