The American River College football team played its season finale this past weekend against division rival Sierra College.
ARC was coming off a win the previous week against College of the Sequoias and with only one loss this season the team was looking at securing a birth in the Northern California Playoffs.
Sierra College beat ARC 23-13, and knocked them from their chance at the playoffs. The loss against Sierra was the teams second of the season, with both losses coming in division play.
The loss by ARC enabled Fresno College to win the Valley Conference with a 7-3 record, they were 4-1 in Conference and the win gave them an automatic bid to play for a chance at the State title. ARC finished the season with an 8-2 record and secured a chance to play one more game this season.
ARC will travel to College of San Mateo on Nov. 23 to play in the Bothman Bulldog Bowl with kickoff at noon. The game will feature the No. 2 and 3 ranked teams in Northern California.
