According to an email sent to the Current by Scott Crow, ARC public information officer, the Beaver Bookstore at American River College has restarted their sale of food and beverage items on Feb. 24, 2020, after having their food license temporarily suspended due to “small amounts of evidence of rodent infestation” found during an inspection by the Environmental Management Department of Sacramento.(Photo by Marquala Brown)

The Indigenous Peoples Day march made its way around the American River College campus on Oct. 9. Bear Jackson, elder of the Shoshone tribe of western Nevada, made it a priority to be at the march. “I took the time off work to share songs, words, dance and to watch our future leaders,” Jackson said. “You must have prayer and singing, it’s what makes us who we are. It’s important to teach it to our youth.”
