LRPD reports sexual assault of female student in the ARC parking structure
The suspect is currently unknown and fled on foot before police could find him
A student was sexually assaulted at the American River College parking structure on the morning of Feb.16, according to a statement released by the Los Rios Police Department.
According to the LRPD, an unknown man approached the female student around 10:45 a.m. on the second floor of the parking structure and touched her buttocks.
The student then left the area and reported it to campus police.
“The suspect fled on foot northwest towards the campus,” according to the LRPD’s ARC crime bulletin. “Officers searched the campus, but were unable to locate the suspect.”
The suspect is described as an 18-to-24-year-old dark-skinned African American male wearing a dark mask, a dark gray hoodie with a multi-color front, dark jeans, dark shoes with white trim, and a dark backpack.
According to Scott Crow, ARC’s communications and public information officer, the Los Rios Police Department is actively investigating this situation.
“As the investigation is in its early stages. We don’t have any additional details at this time,” Crow said in an email to The Current.
