With the spread of COVID-19 causing the shutdown of all Los Rios Community College District campuses, students are no longer allowed on the premises. At the start of the 2020 spring semester, students bought parking passes in order to park on campus in the parking garage or lots surrounding the college, but with the campus closure, students may be questioning if they will get refunds on the parking permits.
According to American River College Public Information Officer Scott Crow, 56% of parking permits would be refunded to compensate for the remainder of the 2020 spring semester. The refunds will be automatic, and students will not have to take any action to get these refunds. If the pass was purchased by credit card then the refund will be sent back on that credit card. Other forms of payments will be refunded by mail and sent to the address on file in student’s eServices accounts, according to Crow.
Crow suggests that students and faculty go to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page on the college’s website for more information and updates on the college’s current operations at this time, https://losrios.edu/campus-life/health-and-safety/coronavirus/faq.
