The new Associated Student Body government adviser was introduced at the recent Clubs and Events Board during its last meeting for the semester.
Juan Miguel Blanco is originally from the state of Washington, where he used to work at Skagit Valley College.
Dean of Student Development Manuel Perez served as the interim adviser for ASB since September of 2014.
He filled in for this role after Tanika Byrd, the previous adviser for ASB, left American River College for Cosumnes River College.
“I will love to pick your brains and to see what we want to institute here at ARC and to learn from you as well,” Blanco said.
May 5 is the final day that members of clubs are able to RSVP for the CAEB’s banquet that will take place on May 15.
One of the concerns that was brought up is that the banquet will have food that the general public LeslieAnn Dameron said that the event needs to look full.
CAEB will be cleaning out a closet that is in the club board meeting room this Friday. There was a motion to give clubs two incentive points per club members that participates in the clean up.
