The Clubs and Events Board meeting Tuesday officially voted on the theme of the March 19 club day: Alien vs. Beaver.
Alien vs. Beaver was one of the themes that was being discussed for the space-themed club day.
Club day will be March 19 with an unofficial spending limit that cannot exceed $500.
According to Nancy Lopez, clubs are interested in selling food at Club Day can e-mail Leslie Ann Dameron, CAEB director of activities, by Saturday.
Dameron announced that the Color Dash at ARC has been postponed to April 18 “to allow for more participation and more awareness.”
Children under the age of five and under will be able to participate in the event for free.
The Color Dash was originally scheduled for February 28. Students can sign up at the ColorDash5k website.
Also announced was an event called Steps to Success to be held Saturday. The event is centered on informing new students on how to get started on campus for their first semester at ARC.
“It’s kinda a huge deal,” said Manuel Perez, dean of student development. “We haven’t done a Saturday outreach event in about five or six years.”
The event is free with food and childcare is provided for families who would like to join. Check in will be in the student center towards the parking lot side by Starbucks.
March in March, a student-run event that will take place at the state capitol in downtown Sacramento on March 2 at 8 a.m., was also discussed.
The ARC table will feature a red table cover, which is where students will be required to sign in.
Registration will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. The rally itself will be starting at the close of the registration and will end around 12:30 p.m.
The next CAEB meeting will be Tuesday, March 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
