SPRING RECESS
There will be a recess from Monday, March 25, 2013, to Sunday, March 31, 2013, due to spring break. Classes will not be in session and all offices will be closed.
LAST DAY TO DROP FULL SEMESTER CLASSES
Sunday, April 21, 2013, is the last day to drop full semester classes. There will be a notation on your transcripts that states your grade is a “W,” meaning you withdrew from the class.
WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
On Thursday, March 7, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Raef Hall 160, Professors Delores Delgado-Campbell and Camille Leonhardt will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972. The amendment gave women the same education rights as men. Leonhardt and Delgado-Campbell, who are women studies professors here at ARC, will share information about the history, significance, and function of Title IX to public education in America.
INQUIRY INTO THE EXISTENCE OF ANGELS
On Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., Dr. Montgomery, author of “Angels, Annunciation, and Synchronicity,” will be discussing the different stances on the existence of angels. She will also touch bases on the future of religion in America and discuss her new book. Dr. Montgomery earned her Ph.D. in philosophy and religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
JUNG PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT
On Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., a career counselor in the Career Center will be holding a workshop focusing on assessing individuals using an assessment tool based on Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type. Several things you may learn about are: your temperament, what careers may be suitable for you, and what type of people you get along with best. To register for this workshop, call the Career Center at 916-484-8492.
