New Science/Fine Arts Building
The spring 2013 semester brings a new addition to the ARC campus: the Life Science/Fine Arts Building. The 8,074 square foot building has the latest and most sophisticated classrooms. It also has labs for art, nutrition, chemistry/biology, and interior design. The academic and artistic programs are designed for students, at any stage in their collegiate career, who are seeking creative experiences that will expand their knowledge and understanding of those particular subjects.
Celebrate the African American Contribution to Music and History
In honor of African-American History Month, various students, accompanied by Music Professor Dr. Joe Gilman, will be performing classic American gospel, blues, jazz, R&B songs, and poetry made famous by African-Americans. The event will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013, in the Fine & Applied Arts Recital Hall in room 512 from 12:15 to 1:15 pm. To register for this workshop, call the Career Center at 916-484-8492.
Résumé Development Workshop
The Career Center in the Student Services Building is holding a Résumé Development Workshop on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Advisors will focus on a résumé’s physical appearance, different formats, what information needs to be included or excluded, and how to write an effective cover letter.
Interview Success Workshop
The Career Center in the Student Services Building is holding an Interview Success Workshop on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. This workshop will provide information on researching an organization, reviewing anticipated questions, assessing your skills, making a professional presentation, your body language and physical presentation, and other specific strategies that will enhance your interviewing skills. Graduation Deadline
The deadline to submit any petitions for Spring 2013 graduations or certificates is Friday, March 1, 2013. The deadline for Summer 2013 graduations is Friday, June 28, 2013. The deadline for Fall 2013 graduations is Friday, October 4, 2013. See a counselor immediately for any help or information.
ARC Switches From iMail to Los Rios Gmail
Before Thursday, May 30, 2013, all students enrolled in the Los Rios Community College District need to upgrade from iMail to Los Rios Gmail. The option is available on the iMail sign-in page. You can also log onto Los Rios Gmail with your eServices account name and password and set your forwarding address to your private email address.
