Nearly 50 institutions of higher learning came to American River College’s annual Transfer Day event on Oct. 5, 2011 to help inform students about their choices for private, independent and out-of-state colleges and universities.
Many students interviewed said that they found this event helpful because it helps them explore their options in furthering their education. According to representative Angelica Moore from Saint Mary’s College of California, “Transfer Day is all about letting students know what they need to accomplish to transfer to a four-year college.” Kye Rothbarth, an undecided major, doesn’t know where she is transferring to, but learned that there are a lot more colleges in the area than she knew about.
