Former Chiodos frontman Craig Owens will be performing at the Boardwalk in Orangevale, California on Friday, Dec. 2 with his new band: badXchannels.
Owens describes his new band as a collaboration of everything he’s ever done. “They [the fans] are going to hear hints of everything I’ve done in the past. I’m making music that I really love… I’m a really collaborative person and badXchannels is basically just that: a big collaboration.”
Owens holds his Sacramento fans in high regard. “The fans in Sacramento are crazy, and I’m not just saying that. Every time I’ve been to Sac. the fans sing along louder than anywhere else,” said Owens. They’re usually sweating and yelling through the whole set. It’s one of my favorite places to play shows… I’m looking forward to partying like only Sac. knows how.”
And even though Owens once opened for Linkin Park at Sleep Train Arena, he has a special place in his heart for The Boardwalk.
“The Boardwalk has a lot of history [for me]. When I first started playing ten years ago, The Boardwalk was the first show I ever played in Nor Cal,” said Owens.
Owens is certain that both old fans and new fans alike will react positively to his music.
“The best part of my fanbase is that they are open-minded,” said Owens. “I’ve always been big on evolving and growing and this is the next step in that.”
As for the night of the concert, Owens said there might be a surprise in store for fans. “There will probably be a special guest. I’ve just got to make a few phone calls and reach out to some friends but it’ll happen.”
Tickets are on sale now for the Dec. 2 performance.
